Galichia Heart Hospital selects OptiMed Technologies' Image Management System

System showcased at new, state-of-the-art private heart hospital in Wichita, Kansas

FAIRFIELD, NJ, March 6, 2002 -- OptiMed Technologies, Inc. announced today the installation of an image management and archival system at Galichia Heart Hospital, a state-of-the-art private heart hospital located in Wichita, Kansas. The heart hospital opened December 2001, and the official opening was on February 16, 2002.

OptiMed's Image Management and Archival System is a leading independent cardiac imaging network system, offering full integration of Echo, Nuclear, CT, IVUS, MRI and any other DICOM modality in a singular system. Expansion and upgrading are easily performed, as the system is designed to use off-the-shelf hardware in an open architecture environment. The software is Windows NT / 2000-based, allowing hospitals to handle most routine service and maintenance using their own biomedical or information technology personnel.

The OptiMed system at Galichia Heart Hospital includes several new product innovations, including InstaVu for instantaneous access to patient images; seamless application interfaces for hemodynamic, HIS and other systems; Web Server for inter- and intra- hospital image access using the internet; and autopopulating, user-customizable Cath Report and Echo Report application that expedite the report completion cycle by integrating patient data and images.

Dr. Joseph Galichia, Medical Director of Galichia Heart Hospital and President and Medical Director of Galichia Medical Group, PA commented, "My dream was to create a heart center that would utilize the most advanced technology in the world and to provide cardiac services in a most sensitive, caring way for the patient. Having been completely satisfied with the performance and support from OptiMed products since 1994, my colleagues and I again selected OptiMed to provide our new hospital with the most advanced and comprehensive solution for our cardiology image management needs."

Ben Noy, President of OptiMed Technologies, said, "We are honored to have been an active participant with Dr. Galichia and his group in designing the Galichia Heart Hospital's image management network system for its four catheterization labs. This hospital was established to be on the leading edge of introducing new cardiac technologies and treatments. Wichita, Kansas represents an active market in the field of cardiac services, and we look forward to being an ongoing factor in Galichia Heart Hospital's competitive edge."
