OptiMed Technologies to supply state-of-the-art Integrated Cath / Echo System

to Hackensack University Medical Center

HUMC to become luminary OptiMed site for advancements in echocardiography

FAIRFIELD, NJ, October 10, 2001 -- OptiMed Technologies, Inc. announced today the receipt of an order from Hackensack University Medical Center of Hackensack, New Jersey, for OptiMed's OptiCor system comprising a fully integrated cath, echo and web server system.

OptiMed's Image Management and Archival System is the leading independent cardiac imaging network system, and it offers the ability to integrate Echo, Nuclear, CT, IVUS, MRI and any other DICOM modality in a singular system. Expansion and upgrading are easily performed, as the system is designed to use off-the-shelf hardware in an open architecture environment. The software is Windows NT-based, allowing hospitals to handle most routine service and maintenance using in-house biomedical or IT personnel. OptiMed's dedicated Web Server provides for a secure and controlled means of instant remote access to the patient database using the Internet.

The OptiMed system atforHackensack University Medical Center includes OptiMed's EchoStor product for direct DICOM connectivity to the hospital's echo machines. The OptiMed system is the only integrated system capable of harvesting echo measurements during a procedure from any echo machine and then embedding the measurements into an echo report.
